I haven't used this in a while, but have good memories of it, and it keeps getting improved non-stop.

backup and synchronization of folders, couldn't have a nicer GUI

Renoise is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) based on the tracker paradigm. I've been using it since nearly 2 decades, I can't say enough good things about it. It takes a while to get into, and I had a head start with playing around with trackers since the Amiga days, but once you *are* used to it and know a lot of keyboard shortcuts, it's bliss.

THE file manager. Sadly only for Windows, but it's so good that on any other OS, the best file manager still is running DOpus with Wine or in a virtual machine with access to the host filesystem.
